Making the most of solar energy to increase self-consumption and reduce dependence on the electricity grid: this is the aim of the installation carried out by Clima Commer Service S.r.l. on the Tyrrhenian coast near Palermo, in the Madonie area. A project that combines a solar PV system with a Heiwit energy storage system, putting the building's energy efficiency at its heart.
Clima Commer Service: energy efficiency solutions
Based in Finale di Pollina, in the province of Palermo, Clima Commer Service specialises in the design, sale and installation of technical systems for energy efficiency and home comfort.
The company offers turnkey solutions for the residential and industrial sectors: from solar PV, with hybrid and off-grid configurations, to heat pumps, as well as summer and winter air conditioning and solar thermal.
The installation on the Palermo coast
The project was carried out in a setting well suited to solar PV generation, thanks to the solar irradiance available in the area. To make use of this resource beyond the hours of generation as well, the system was integrated with a Heiwit energy storage system.
The battery storage makes it possible to store energy that is generated but not used straight away, making it available when the building's demand exceeds solar PV generation, for example in the evening. The combination thus increases the share of energy consumed directly on site and limits reliance on the grid.
Energy independence and careful installation
The project aims to achieve a high level of energy independence and to reduce the building's environmental impact.
The choice of components and attention to the installation work were central to Clima Commer Service's approach, together with care over the system's aesthetic integration.
