How to reconnect inverter Wi-Fi after router change or password change (video guide)
You have changed your home router, updated your Wi-Fi password or changed the network name (SSID) and now the inverter is offline on the app?
Don't worry: in most cases it only takes a few minutes to reconfigure the Wi-Fi connection.
In this article you will find a simple end-user guide and a step-by-step video showing you what to do.

Watch the video above and follow the steps in the same order.
When is it necessary to redo the Wi-Fi configuration?
- You have changed router or Internet operator.
- You have changed password of the Wi-Fi network.
- You have changed the network name (SSID).
- You have created a new network (e.g. 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz separation) and the inverter no longer connects.
Before starting (30 seconds)
- Keep it handy: Wi-Fi network name (SSID) e password.
- Get close to the inverter with your smartphone (best to stay within a few metres).
- Check that the home network is active: try surfing from the phone with Wi-Fi.
- Important advice: many configurations only work on the network 2.4 GHz. If you have a single 2.4/5 GHz network, this is fine, but in some cases it is better to select the dedicated 2.4 GHz network.
Fast track procedure (summary)
- Open the HEIWIT Solar app and go to the account section.
- Tap on “Bluetooth connection”.
- Locate the device and tap on Wi-Fi.
- When required, connect to the home network.
- Wait 1-3 minutes: the inverter should return online.
If it does not connect: the most common causes
1) Incorrect password or special characters
- Double-check upper/lower case.
- Avoid (if possible) very “special” characters in your password and try again.
2) You are on the 5 GHz network
- Many IoT/inverter devices work best on 2.4 GHz.
- If the router creates two separate networks, choose 2.4 GHz.
3) Weak signal near the inverter
- Try moving the router closer together temporarily or use a repeater/mesh.
- Check that there are no obstacles near the inverter (large walls, metal panels, etc.).
4) The inverter was “stuck” on the old grid
- Repeat the procedure from the beginning.
- If required by the model, perform a network/communication reset (network only, not electrical settings).
FAQ
How long does it take to come back online?
Usually 1-3 minutes after entering the new password and completing the configuration.
Do I also have to redo the association on the app?
Usually not: you are only updating your Wi-Fi network. However, if you have also changed accounts or phones, you may need to log in again.
Do you need the Internet to reconnect?
The router needs to be switched on and the network working. The configuration procedure takes place between smartphone and inverter, then the inverter connects to the router.
Still having problems?
If the inverter is still offline after the procedure, please contact your installer or technical support, stating:
- Inverter model
- Screenshot of the error on the app
- Network name (SSID) used and whether it is 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz
- Any repeaters/mesh in the house
This way we can help you more quickly to restore monitoring.
