Heiwit reaches new milestone: first Megawatt-hour of renewable energy produced

Sep 8, 2024 | Objectives, Press review

We are excited to announce that Heiwit has reached an important milestone in its mission to promote sustainable energy. We have just produced our first megawatt-hour (MWh) of renewable energy, a decisive step towards a greener, cleaner future.

The meaning of a renewable MWh

One megawatt hour of energy is enough to power an average home for almost three months, but the most important thing is that this MWh was generated entirely from renewable sources. Not only did we produce clean energy, but we also contributed significantly to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions.

Saving CO2: a tangible contribution

For every kilowatt hour (kWh) of renewable energy produced, we avoid the emission of 0.48 kg of CO2 into the atmosphere. With the production of our first MWh, Heiwit helped to avoid 480 kg of CO2 emissions. To give a concrete idea, this is equivalent to planting about 8 mature trees or avoiding driving more than 3,000 km by car.

A future of sustainability

This is just the beginning. As we expand our renewable energy operations, we continue to reduce our carbon footprint and promote a world powered by sustainable sources. Every MWh produced represents one more step in our fight against climate change.

Heiwit is committed not only to innovating in the field of renewable energy, but also to ensuring that every milestone achieved is an opportunity to educate and inspire our community to make more conscious and sustainable choices.

Reaching this milestone is a source of great pride for Heiwit and all those who have believed in our mission. The road to a greener future is still long, but with determination and innovation we are convinced that we will continue to make a difference.
