Verona, 8-9 October 2025 - Two intense days, full of meetings and enthusiasm. Heiwit participated with great success in the Solar & Storage 2025 exhibition of Verona, presenting their sodium ion storage solutions at the Hall 6, Stand S8. An occasion that confirmed how ready the Italian market is for a new generation of batteries that are safer, sustainable and truly European.

Forward-looking technology: sodium instead of lithium

The curiosity and interest shown by installers and industry professionals during the exhibition was the clearest testimony to the change taking place in the world of energy storage. The technology sodium-ion today represents one of the most promising alternatives to traditional lithium batteries: it is safer, more sustainable and, above all, more accessible.

Sodium cells, in fact, do not contain lithium, cobalt or nickel - rare and geopolitically critical materials - but use elements that are abundant and available everywhere, such as sodium, iron and manganese. This not only reduces the environmental impact, but also avoids dependence on complex and expensive supply chains.

For the installers who visited the Heiwit stand, the perspective is clear: a more sustainable storage system also means a new market opportunity. During the two days of the fair, the Heiwit stand welcomed hundreds of visitors, including installers, designers, distributors and curious people interested in the emerging technology. Interest was particularly high among the installers from Veneto and Lombardy, but also professionals from Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany and Apulia expressed great interest in the possibility of offering their customers a real alternative to lithium. One of the most discussed topics at the stand was the battery safety. The difference between lithium and sodium is not only theoretical: Heiwit batteries have no risk of thermal runaway and can operate over a wider temperature range without the need for complex cooling systems.

This means less risk of fire, greater durability e low maintenance. For installers, translated into practice, it also means easier handling during installation and a stronger relationship with end customers. Towards a more sustainable and European future

Heiwit's mission goes beyond simply selling batteries. The aim is to build a European storage chain, reducing dependence on non-EU imports and creating industrial value in the region. To this end, the company has initiated initial collaborations with local producers, research institutes and Italian logistics partners to move part of the assembly to Italy during the course of 2026.

This path will accelerate product certification, reduce delivery times and create skilled jobs in a sector with high growth potential. A vision consistent with the European strategies for energy autonomy and green transition.
